Trust & Review Methodology
What NorfolkTrades checks—and what it does not guarantee.
A factual explanation of listing approval, customer reviews and fair directory ordering.
What does listing approval mean?
Approval means the account and listing have passed NorfolkTrades’ platform controls for public eligibility. It is not a guarantee of the business’s work or financial standing.
What NorfolkTrades checks
- The owner account has a verified email address and is not banned.
- The business is approved and active rather than draft, rejected or suspended.
- The business has an active paid membership and a recognised primary trade.
- Only supplied public profile information and approved public media are displayed.
What NorfolkTrades does not independently guarantee
NorfolkTrades does not independently guarantee workmanship, insurance, qualifications, accreditations, solvency or statutory compliance. Customers should ask a business for evidence relevant to their job and make their own decision before appointing it.
How are customer reviews handled?
A registered customer can submit a numeric rating and written account of an experience. New reviews enter a pending moderation state and are not counted publicly until published. Businesses cannot edit, delete or hide customer reviews; platform rules allow a business to reply or report one. A reported review can be returned to published status or removed after moderation. Rejected and removed reviews are not public.
Review photographs are not currently accepted. NorfolkTrades does not publish reviewer email addresses, account identifiers, moderation notes or complaint evidence.
Complaints and corrections
Use the contact page to report inaccurate public information or a concern about a listing or review. NorfolkTrades can investigate under its moderation controls; it does not publish private complaint material.
How are businesses ranked?
Directory results first consider how closely the selected primary or secondary trade matches the search, then whether the supplied service areas match the Norfolk location. Published customer rating and review volume contribute through a reputation score. Remaining ties use business name and a stable identifier.
No. Businesses cannot buy a higher organic directory position. Membership plan and Founding status are excluded from ranking. Premium and Founding recognition do not change organic directory ranking, and NorfolkTrades has no sponsored or purchasable first-place result.
What does “trusted” mean?
Where NorfolkTrades uses “trusted” as a recognition label, it refers to defined platform or published-review criteria. It does not mean NorfolkTrades guarantees workmanship or independently certifies every claim made by a business.
